The book is divided into two main sections. The first, 'A Spiritual Heritage' recounts the history of Bahل'ي literature in English. It is placed in the context of the works of the Three Central Figures of the Bahل'ي Faith - Bahل'u'llلh, the Bلb and 'Abdu'l-Bahل - as the core of that literature and the basis for all subsequent writings. The rise of Bahل'ي publishing centres during the ministries of Shoghi Effendi and the Universal House of Justice, and the establishment of standards of Bahل'ي publishing, are other major themes of this fascinating essay.
The second section, 'Classification of Bahل'ي Literature' lists books, pamphlets and magazines published throughout the Bahل'ي world up to the end' of 1986.
